Saybrook IRB
The Institutional Review Board (IRB) ensures that all Saybrook faculty, staff, and students research is designed ethically to protect human participants. Following our federal-wide assurance (FWA# 00014486), the Saybrook IRB committee reviews research to ensure compliance with the requirements of the federal Health and Humans Services (HHS) Protection of Human Subjects regulations (45 CFR 46), state, and local regulations.

What research does the Saybrook IRB Review?
The Saybrook IRB reviews all research activities conducted by Saybrook faculty, staff, and student researchers, including student research proposals for a master's thesis or project, or a dissertation. The procedures we follow are mandated by federal law (Title 45, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 46).  The Saybrook IRB reviews research plans to ensure these studies include safeguards to protect the rights and welfare of the participants who consent to take part in your research.
